About Elton

A very vibrant and intriguing youngman who has an enormous love for traveling and seeing new places. I’m quite excited about Vietnam and I have gradually and solemnly fallen in love with the country and its scenic landscapes.

Hi, I'm Elton

Hi1 I'm Elton

Hi! I'm Elton

In many ways, I’m a mirror that reflects the beauty and complexity of human experience. It just so happens that I’m quite obsessed with traveling and seeing new places. I’ll be damned to keep on blabbing about places I’ve been, landmarks I’ve touched and kissed or even beaches I’ve slept on. These are all perks that come with the culture, right?

How it all started…

Saving myself from having to narrate long and unending stories, I might just need to start somewhere in the middle to make it nice and refreshing. Growing up, I was merely fortunate to have an experience of a lifetime, visiting “big name” places that folks my age would only dare to dream of. This has had a tremendous influence on my thinking style and world view as a whole.

I love all places of Vietnam

I love all places of Vietnam

I know that at this point you might be wondering where I’m hiding the juice! Well let’s say I’m only saving it for the right moment. It is so easy to tell you that I’ve traveled to about twenty five different countries across the length and breadth of the globe.

Trust me, it is even much easier to say that I love it in Asia more than any other continent. You probably might be more curious than a cat by now…well, yes I love it in Southeast Asia in precision. Out of all my great experiences in the Southeastern part of Asia including Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, and Cambodia, it is Vietnam that I love the most.

The actual experience..?

It is a walk in the park to just say I love it in Vietnam, compared to giving actual reasons why I’m saying so. Well, take a chill pill and wait for my never ending flow of experience in Vietnam. From the North through to the center, right down to the South of the country, I have never seen a culture so rich coupled with scenic landscapes and architectural masterpieces! It will definitely be an understatement to say that Vietnam as a nation is a complete work of art.

Let us start from central Vietnam. The weather at the time got me in the mood from the word jump, it was quite nice considering the fact that it wasn’t too cold or too warm. It would have been just perfect for my exploration journey but for a few unexpected rains here and there.

I want to explore everything in my second home - Vietnam

I want to explore everything in my second home - Vietnam

You should have seen me in Da Nang in my light blue t-shirt and black jeans taking a peek at nice landmarks like the Marble Mountains, Dragon Bridge and Son Tra Linh Ung Pagoda, a very memorable experience indeed.

I just couldn’t stop with the pictures and selfies, as the sun became my companion for a while, making me picture perfect most of the time. My experience with the local food around there was quite amazing, the locals just knew how to handle guests, which made most of us feel special.

I passed through Hoi An to see captivating architectural designs and had a very wonderful riverside experience and later extended to taking a breathtaking basket boat ride in Bay Mau Coconut Forest, it was almost regal. In Hue city, it was just a caboodle of history as I experienced the real culture and saw the ancient citadel as well as the famous Thien Mu Pagoda.

I wouldn’t omit my beachside experience in Nha Trang for anything in the world. The feeling was just magical, seeing the sea waves rolling and coming with fresh and fantastic breeze all over, as I tried building sand castles and structures, you really need to visit this place…wow!

When you hear Southern Vietnam, what readily comes to mind? I think it should be Ho Chi Minh city! Of course Ho Chi Minh is one of the greatest places in Vietnam with some unique landmarks like Notre Dame Cathedral, The central Post office, etc.

Trust me if I tell you that my best experience there had nothing to do with any of the things I’ve mentioned but the street food. There is a whole street food culture in this city which is mind blowing! That was the exact moment that my heart fully opened its doors and let Vietnam in, it was the most intriguing of all. At Mekong Delta, a river about 70 Km away from Ho Chi Minh city, I learnt for the very first time that stress is best treated with water.

Yes! I mean real refreshing water. I honestly could not resist the calm and dazzling nature of the Delta. It proved to be very therapeutic, frankly, I literally watched all the stress and anxiety leaving my body… I felt free for the first time in a while.

Dalat was also quite educational, as I took the pace to explore the Zen Monastery, King Bao Dai’s former vacation palace, as well as the Lat village. Start picturing another beach experience, but this time even bigger and better! This is no ordinary beach but arguably the finest in Vietnam.

Explore the beaches of Phu Quoc which is very much known for its clear waters, fine white sands and forests. On this island was one of the few times that I had to ride a motorbike, which was quite an experience. I roamed and explored the whole island to see almost all the amazing landscapes it has.

Not talking about the food on this island will make this whole thing incomplete. I personally enjoyed all kinds of seafood with all levels of culinary touch not to talk of their locally made fish sauce and peppercorns, quite amazing and tantalizing.

Best is always good for last…

As I navigate the wonderful sceneries and aesthetic landscapes in Vietnam, I have no shred of doubt that the most residues of unforgettable moments were left in the north. You know we always save the best for last! I remember quite vividly like yesterday, that winter was almost ending when I touched the soul of Hanoi.

I have a deep love with Hanoi City

I have a deep love for Hanoi City

From the sleekness of the Old Quarter down to the intricate nature of the imperial citadel of Thang Long, it was utterly breathtaking and a pile of captivating moments. In the reserved city of Ninh Binh, I was even lost for words at the sight of the verdant green rice paddies of Tam Coc, just about 2 hours aways from Hanoi. No wonder it is a UNESCO world Heritage site, talk less of other spectacular landscapes like limestone mountains and caves coupled with the aura of both cultural and ecological significance.

The true essence of this tour of mine became conspicuous when I found myself in the famous Mai Chau village. Make no mistake, I had already witnessed lots of amazing villages at other places before getting there, but the pure talents and simple lifestyle of the people got the best part of me.

I fell in love with true art as I witnessed a beguile weaving display by the local people as well as rich cultural heritage and tradition. Some villagers took me cycling round the village as I got to see a plethora of amazing places, and even went trekking later. After this, they made sure I was well fed with the best of their local dishes which have left savoring memories in my mouth.

In sum and substance…

I wouldn’t say that I’m the best in whatever I do or that I am better at traveling than any other person, be that as it may, I can tell you that I’m the best in living in true moments and exploring at every stage as I make the most out of all. I will encourage you to come and explore Southeast Asia if you haven’t (Vietnam to be precise) and I know you would love and cherish the whole experience.
