Ho Chi Minh Arrival

When you arrive at the Tan Son Nhat International airport you'll be met at the baggage claim by our friendly guide. Just look for the sign with our Asia Tour Advisor logo and your name. We'll get you to your hotel and see that you're comfortable, plus we'll give you an introduction to the city at the same time. Then the rest of the day is yours to settle in, relax, and explore the area.

Saigon is a city that never sleeps and offers a plethora of great restaurants and bars catering to all tastes, from street food vendors to the rooftop bar at the Rex Hotel, where international correspondents covered the Vietnam War and where the U.S. military attaché’s press briefing was held daily and dubbed the “Five O’clock Follies”. Whatever your interests, be sure to ask your guide for personal recommendations.

Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels

We'll pick you up in the morning and take you to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a major part of the Vietnam-American War and a fascinating day trip-- explore the mysterious tunnels, find hidden doors and once-deadly traps. After lunch we'll go back to HCMC and spend the afternoon either visiting the War Remnants Museum or the Presidential Palace, whichever you prefer. Then stroll around the city's colonial streets in the evening to the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street, Continental Hotel, Opera House and City Hall.

Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta – My Tho – Can Tho

From Ho Chi Minh we'll take a short drive through lush green rice fields into the Mekong Delta and the town of My Tho. We'll stop to visit the Vinh Trang Pagoda and take a hand-rowed sampan boat down the mighty Mekong, drifting under the shade of coconut trees through the river's natural canals. You'll get to see wooden stilt houses, aromatic fruit plantations and traditional fishing villages built along the banks. At Tortoise Islet we'll stop to have lunch in an orchard garden, then continue down the river to An Khang. If you'd like, we can take a short bicycle tour (you can apply for a private tour if time permits) and enjoy seasonal fruit, honey, and tea to the beautiful sounds of southern Vietnamese folk music performed by local musicians. In one of the small river villages you can taste delicious, hand-made coconut candies while you experience the idyllic rural lifestyle. In the evening we'll head to Can Tho and make sure you're comfortable in your hotel, then you can have some time to visit the bustling Can Tho Market.

Can Tho – Long Xuyen - Chau Doc

Take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river (Bassac River), then proceed to Cai Rang floating markets (& Phong Dien is optional), which are the liveliest in the whole religion.
Have you ever tasted Vietnamese vermicelli soup? Well, now go and see how it is made. Then wander around the village and meet the friendly local people and experience how to pass a "Monkey bridge" which is built by only one stem of bamboo. Visit the orchard garden. Stop for lunch. Proceed to Chau Doc via Long Xuyen to visit the crocodile farm. Check in on arriving in Chau Doc. Admire the landscape from the Sam Mountain summit down the Vietnamese - Cambodian border, visit the Caved pagoda. Overnight in Chau Doc.

Chau Doc – Phnom Penh

Breakfast at your hotel. Take a morning speed boat ~ 4.5 hours to Phnom Penh. Visa on arrival at Cambodia border (20 usd each, 1 photo 3x4cm) local Cambodian guide meet at Phnompenh boat pier and transfer to hotel. Free time for relaxing or visit Russian Market

Phnom Penh Tour – Siem Reap

The capital city of Phnom Penh was once considered the loveliest city of Indochina. Despite its recent turbulent history, it still maintains considerable charm. A city tour acquaints us with some major sights of Phnom Penh. Visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and then the National Museum, which is dedicated exclusively to Khmer art and sculpture. The majority of the exhibits are from the Angkor period from 9th to 15th century, but some date from as early as the 4th century. The private quarters of the Royal Palace are now home to the royal family and are therefore very close to the public. At the northern area of the palace grounds is Silver Pagoda, the most sacred temple in the country.
Then transfer to airport for a light to Siem Reap. Arrive in Siem Reap, pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. Free time

Siem Reap Tour

Early morning, visit the picturesque Ta Prohm that had nearly disappeared into the jungle and remains overgrown, an oddly haunting and exotic scene. The magnificent roots of a tree, pushing between the huge stone blocks of the temple in a sort of embrace, evoke feelings that you may remember forever. And continue to visit the intricately carved Khmer ruins at Angkor Wat - one of the world’s most impressive ruins. The temple still owns fine Apsara carvings in Angkorian era art. And continue exploring the mysterious Royal city Angkor Thom. City & Bayon Its 54-tower temple is an awesome sight. At first glance it seems a shapeless mass of stone, but further scrutiny reveals a face, and then another and another until suddenly you are engulfed by the silent, heavy, enigmatic and silent gaze through half-closed eyes, staring out from a primitive and remote time. Further, visit to the surroundings of the complex including the Baphou, Elephant Terraces, Lipper King Terrace and Royal Palace . Enclosure area and visit one more ruin in Angkor Area of Preah Khan temple, built in 12th century by King Jayavarman VII and it is the same style to Ta Prom Temple.

You have free time in the morning until your private car arrives to take you to the airport for your next destination.

Best tripin the Mekong Delta – absolutely fantastic!
Reviewed On: Jan 05, 2023Camilla SandebertBest tripin the Mekong Delta – absolutely fantastic!United Kingdom

We booked a 2 days and 2 night tour from Ho Chi Min City to Can Tho and then travelled to Phnom Penh. We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Asia Tour Advisor! They picked us up at our hotel in Ho Chi Minh City with a private car and the tour guide gave us a hearty welcome. We did a tour on the Mekong to the floating markets which was a great experience because our guide is a local and we could have breakfast (pho) in our boat from a floating restaurant. We also had the chance to eat pineapple right from the trading boat from the floating market and also to go on the pineapple boat and experience the floating market. Our guide spoke very well English and explained the floating market and the local life to us. We then travelled to a homestay where we were spoiled with wonderful and tasty food from the hosts. The homestay was in the countryside right at the Mekong and it was a nice break from the busy cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Min City. We also did a cycling trip through the nature and we were introduced to different local factories and farmers which was very interesting and which is also a great thing to support the local people. The homestay only had a fan in the bedroom and no A/C which made it a little difficult to sleep because it was so hot – however, we travelled in April which is apparently the hottest month there – so in the high season it may not be as hot 😉 and for a homestay it was also ok. On the next day we travelled in the sunrise on the Mekong to another floating market to have breakfast which was absolutely beautiful – seeing the Mekong in the dawn was absolutely breathtaking. This tour was really fun and interesting. We again visited local manufacturers and farmers and got again a taste of the tasty local food and a great experience. We slept in a very luxurious five star hotel in Can Tho and slept really well – only a shame we had to get up at 3 o’clock already because we then travelled on to Phnom Penh. Even thought the travel to Phnom Penh did not belong to the tour we booked with Asia Tour Advisor. So, overall, we had a really wonderful experience with Asia Tour Advisor’s tour – the guides spoke very well English and you get really a good insight of the local life (something I find quite difficult to provide and haven’t experienced in other tours). I can recommend Asia Tour Advisor’s tours to everyone and will definitely advise my family and friends to travel with them if they have the chance.

It was a very fun experience to visit the Mekong Delta with our tour guide Tuan. He was very friendly and kept the group engaged. We went by boat along the Delta into a small village, where there were singers/performers. We were shown local food and there was a large meal prepared. Tuan was so helpful and I would recommend this trip to anyone in Saigon.

We have a few ways to travel from Saigon to Phnom Penh. Firstly, we visit Ho Chi Minh & Cu Chi Tunnels. The trip to the Cu Chi Tunnel is, as expected, fairly touristic with limited freedom to roam around. Then we have 3 days in Mekong Delta with the first night stop over in Can Tho where you can visit the floating market of Cai Rang, Then the last night in Chau Doc where you will get the speed boat to Phnompenh. The speed boats start around 7 am in the morning, price around 25 USD per head and it takes about 4 hours from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh. You can easily do this way by yourself by using public buses if you are on budget or you can take the private trip if affordable, This is a very easy, interesting way to explore the Mekong Delta and great connecting way to enter to Cambodia as well. You will take more photos than you ever have before. Very few restrictions and the local people love posing for you. Happy and safe travels!

Terrific Floating Market Tour

Four of us took the 7 hour tour that went to Mekong delta and then continued up river to the smaller and more intimate Ben tre followed by a trip through back canals and a brief hike beside a canal, to a boa constrictor farm and a noodle factory. We all loved every bit of it.
Our guide, Huy was affable, knowledgeable, articulate and spoke excellent English. We had a breakfast at the homestay in Ben Tre and then an early lunch near the noodle factory.
Highly recommended.

Thanks guys, you were just great. Always a bit of a worry when you book online from a different country, but you guys rocked it. The Vietnamese people were amazing, they kept wanting to touch our hair. Not creepy just really interested in us. Everywhere we went people shouted hello and how are you. We weren’t hassled anywhere we went and for two blonde girls traveling alone that makes a nice change. Vietnam is so much more beautiful than I had expected. I really enjoyed The Mekong Delta with its floating markets and also Saigon, or Ho Chi Minh as they now say. Can’t wait for the next adventure.
