Talking about Vietnam tours but not talking about the most breath-taking landscapes in the North like amazing Sa Pa, mysterious Mu Cang Chai, breath-taking Ham Rong,… is definitely a big mistake. But you know what? There’s also another beautiful landscape in the North of Vietnam, but rarely known by tourists, that’s Bac Son Valley belonging to Bac Son, Lang Son province.

The most attractive thing of this destination is beautiful rice fields in harvest. So if you want to watch completely Bac Son Valley, you should climb on the top of mountain. If you are lucky to come Bac Son properly in crops, you surely would to be back to contemplate the scenery at the second time.

Bac Son valley is so stunning in day light

Surrounded by limestone mountains, Bac Son appeared in a puff of smoke fades with mesmerizing beauty, the mountains, the clouds and the green rice fields attracted travelers’ view.

From Na Lay mountain top, you could see the whole scenery of the area with its all peacefulness and charm. You will see tiny roofs standing one by one. Roads, rivers and people became so little that they looked to be moving in slow motion on a golden background. Smoke from burning straw flew up to the sky, making the whole picture more distinguished.

With flat terrain, Bac Son has many merits for irrigating which leads the people planted rice in two crops. Being planted in the different time, rice field also was harvested in turn which forms the colorful strip with the pieces of field. These opposition color pieces were deeply impressed by anyone contemplated them and horizontal – vertical canals make the picture of Bac Son more magnetic.

If you come to Bac Son at the time when the rice is newly transplanted, the entire space will display a green color of the new rice.

The amazing scenery of Bac Son is becoming the place that photographers and “phuot” travelers desires to explore at the moment.

Believe me! There are even more beautiful sceneries on the way to Bac Son, and it will be best if you travel to this destination by a motorbike. By traveling with this kind of vehicle, you can get to know about the daily life of local people here and also take a lot of awesome photos.

Traditional house of Tay people in Bac Son

Beside breath-taking, beautiful landscapes, visiting the Tay’s villages here is also a fantastic idea to try. Bac Son residents are mainly Tay people who preserve traditional customs like fork games such as stone throwing, swinging, etc. Tay people’s houses face the Southeast, a tradition going back hundreds of years. Life here is peaceful with rustic, calm people and beautiful nature.

You willleave Bac Son with a memory card full of photos. You will gain a great asset that cannot be bought at any price. And so if you want to make a memorable journey to Vietnam (I wrote an guide to make your journey to Vietnam a memorable one HERE). Bac Son is definitely something that can’t be missed.
