Having the deep-routed tradition of fishing culture, Cong Dam is a great place for tourists to talk with fishermen and listen to their interesting stories about daily life. With karsts formed as long as 340 millions years ago, Cong Dam Area is considered as an ‘outdoor geological museum’. Not only owning beautiful beaches such as Tra Gioi, Cay Bang and Cat Oan, Cong Dam is also the place to discover impressive coral reefs and admire the natural beauty of numerous mountains formed by a stack of huge rock.

Here a lot of coral reefs are concentrated, with underground lakes inside the limestone mountain and underwater caves. It is also an area of many large beaches, Tra Gioi, Cay Bang and Cat Oan, with smooth, white sand and clear, blue water.

In Cong Dam area is an old, small village, which has retained largely intact its traditional fishing culture with a population of about 120 people. Tourists visit Cong Dam to chat with the friendly locals, hear their stories and sit in awe of their daily trials and triumphs on halong bay junk cruise. They speak of their livelihoods and their families and the local women will even take you on a personal bamboo boat tour along the water to explore the magnificent mountains and quaint little homes along the way.
