The focal point of the mountain is the spectacular statue of Buddha entering a state of paranirvana, the final nirvana of enlightened beings. Built in 1963, the statue is 11 metres high and extends for 49 metres. The statue is located in the Linh Son Truong Tho Pagoda.   A wonderful way to see some impressive scenery is to trek up the Ta Cu Mountain.

ta-cu-mountainA 40 minute drive from Phan Thiet will take you to the mountain, which is 200 km east of Saigon. The 4.5 hour trek up this mountain could be a little strenuous but the breathtaking view from the top will be a wonderful reward. At the summit, enjoy a picnic lunch and the scenery. For trekking enthusiasts, this full day trip will be a wonderful experience.
