Phu Quoc

Phu Quoc is a popular tourist destination with many attractions like Vinpearl Safari, Night Market, historic fish sauce factories, and more. Let's learn basic information about this island before making a specific plan for your trip!

Where Is Phu Quoc?

Phu Quoc is Vietnam's largest island in the Gulf of Thailand and a part of Kien Giang, covering an area of around 574 square kilometers.

This island has evolved into a popular tourist destination. It attracts visitors with its idyllic beaches, diverse marine life, and various recreational activities.

The island's economy has also benefited from the tourism-related infrastructure and service development. So, it's a key player in Vietnam's tourism industry.

Phu Quoc Weather

Phu Quoc Weather

Phu Quoc has a tropical climate with two main seasons: dry and rainy.

The dry season runs from November to April, with the driest weather from January to March. During this time, temperatures range from 77 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit (25 to 35 degrees Celsius).

The rainy season is from May to October, with the wettest months being July to September. It still stays warm, between 79 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit (26 to 30 degrees Celsius), but there's rainfall. Sometimes, there are storms or typhoons.

Which Season Should We Travel To Phu Quoc?

phu-quoc-in-march

Phu Quoc In March

The best season to go to Phu Quoc is the dry season (November to March). This period offers the most favorable weather conditions for a tropical getaway.

In these months, temperatures are warm, ranging from 77 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit (25 to 28 degrees Celsius), and the skies are clear with minimal rain.

Choosing this time to visit means you can enjoy the beautiful beaches and outdoor activities without worrying much about the weather. It's an opportunity to explore the island, try water sports, and experience the natural beauty here.

During the rainy season, although you may encounter rain, it's the time when rainforests and landscapes flourish. So, if you like green scenery and don't mind the rain, the rainy season might be your choice for when to visit Phu Quoc.
