So if you have heard about Halong Bay of Vietnam, you may also hear about another beautiful but much more peaceful neighboring bay, that’s Bai Tu Long bay. There are plenty of amazingly interesting things that you can do in Bai Tu Long bay, and one of the most favorite activities that tourists often choose to do here is discovering Quan Lan island, one of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, located within the area of Bai Tu Long Bay, stretching from Van Don mountains to Giot Mountain.

There are 2 ways for you to get to Quan Lan, one is from Halong Bay and the other is from Cai Rong Pier (near Cua Ong). If you take a ferry from Halong, it would take about 1.5 hours while taking speedboat from Cai Rong pier takes about 45 minutes. Along the way get to the island, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the fancy view of thousands of islets, large and small stones in many shapes. You will also be impressed with the mean of transport people use when go from the pier – tuk tuk (a 3-wheel vehicle). Tuk tuk is not only the most popular mean of transportation here but also the best and most interesting way to visit this island.

1. The paradise made of blue sea and white sand

The main attraction on Quan Lan is the beautiful Minh Chau beach located on the island’s northeastern coast. This beach is the most beautiful among 3 beaches here (Quan Lan Beach, Son Hao Beach and Minh Chau Beach). If you have a chance to come here, you can feel like walking on a sky full of stars because every single sand here sparkle like a diamond, a star.

However, even though Minh Chau is the most attractive beach here, the other beaches have also their own irresistible attractiveness. If Son Hao beach can impress tourists with big wave, a very busy service area; Minh Chau beach is the tranquil paradise with calm water, then Van Hai beach is famous for its large rocks. And thanks to the beautiful beaches, each year there are more and more tourists visiting the island. Water sports included kayaking, diving or surfing,… and lots of cheap eateries with fresh beer and tasty seafood are also a source of attraction of this place.

Quan Lan Town is the main town on the island. If taking a bicycle or motorbike tour around the island, you can have a chance to visit a beautiful 200-year-old pagoda in Quan Lan Town, situated with a group of pagodas and shrines on Quan Lan Island Commune in the Van Don District. It was built at end of the Later Le Dynasty, and was restored on numerous occasions during the Nguyen Dynasty. This is a beautiful temple which is mainly made of woods. Over hundreds of years, the wooden temple still keeps it beauty.
