In the 11th century it was overbuilt with a Khmer style prang, which was later overgrown by the jungle. The ruin was visited several times by the later King Mongkut during his time as a monk, and after his coronation he ordered the building of a new and more magnificent chedi at the site. After 17 years of construction it was finished in 1870, and the population of nearby Nakhon Chai Si was ordered to move to the newly created town around the chedi.

This hill is situated at the southern end of Hua Hin, only 4 kilometers from the town. Visitors can go up the hilltop to enjoy a bird's eye view of Hua Hin, which is one of the delightful views either during the day or night. There is a temple call Wat Khao Takiap situated on top of the hill. The giant golden Buddha Statue standing against the cliff has become a landmark of Khao Takiap.

Great experience!

The Unseen Thailand was our first trip with ATA. We found the tour really fun because it had such a great mix of people and also an enthusiastic tour leader. I felt like the tour got us out of our comfort zone allowing us to see places we wouldn’t normally see whilst allowing us to just enjoy without worrying about all the small things. Overall it was a great experience!

Our trip to Thailand was organized by ATA, everything went perfect. The hotels, excursions, tour guides ….were the way we expected. We coordinated everything directly with Mr Hong & Ms Tam and they always responded very quickly. We highly recommend their services, on our next trip to Asia we will definitely organize the excursions with them.

I was looking for a travel agency to make a trip to Thailand and Vietnam for my mom and aunts, they don’t speak English so it was really important for me an agency which could be with them, take care of them, take them to the highlights of each place and most importantly someone who could speak with them, since I wasn’t able to travel with them! Since the very beginning they were super nice organizing the plans and making it suitable for our needs. Talking about the experience when they got to Thailand, it was better than expected! All the tour guides were really nice and spoke fluent Spanish, they took them to beautiful places, told them interesting facts about history and culture and behave like friends with them, always providing the best service.
The hotels they offer, the food and everything was really nice.
They loved the trip with this company and I am thankful for that!

The best trip ever!

My friends told me that the tour “Unseen Thailand” could show a Thailand that I never saw before; that it was another beauty that everyone, if capturing it, will remember it for a lifetime. At first I doubted it, but now that I took the tour myself, I couldn’t deny what I experienced. Another thing I like is the great service from Asia Tour Advisor. Believe me or not, the tour was completely trashful without them. They planned the whole thing from A to Z, and especially they really care about the passengers’ feelings and emotions. What a great company!

The day I said goodbye was the saddest day in my life because I couldn’t stand the idea of leaving Thailand and Asia Tour Advisor. The trip “Unseen Thailand” was truly wonderful as I went to many great places and learnt a lot from the tour guide Aomme. I had nothing to worry about because Asia Tour Advisor planned the trip so well with comfortable hotels and convenient vehicles to get around. Aomme impressed me with her wide knowledge and hospitality. I am back with my daily work but always dreaming about the day when I come back to Thailand. I think I will contact Asia Tour Advisor soon to make that dream happen.

Travel bag arranged our both in Bangkok and Hun Hin through tour and have to say was impressed with the service. The pick up from the airport was very easy and we were soon transported to our hotel. We met Kay the tour east rep next morning and arranged a couple of trips for us. We arranged to go to the grand palace and Kay actually turned up as our guide, as others had mentioned we were taken to the gems warehouse which was a bit of a hard sell at first. All in all the services both in Bangkok and Hun Hin was excellent, we had no problems with any of the transfers to and from the airports. Recommended.

We had a lovely trip, and hope to return to Thailand one day with more time to enjoy the country. Everything went very smoothly. The hotel was comfortable and clean, and well located. Our guide was very knowledgeable and professional, and also willing to respond to our requests for adjustments to the itinerary, which we appreciated. Our driver was excellent – careful and professional, and also spoke good English, which was helpful. The itinerary worked very well, and we enjoyed the temples so such. Just a note that the advance itinerary we had was a little different from what we actually encountered – for example, we did not know that dinner was included on the first night so had already decided to eat in town. But that was not a problem. When we wanted to have some rest time instead of going back to the museum for a second visit, our guide was very willing to make this change
Best regards,
Harry
