Enjoy a delightful lunch with a local family before continuing your journey to the rural outskirts, approximately 35 kilometers from the Angkor area, to visit the smallest yet most magnificent temple, Banteay Srei. Constructed in the 10th century and dedicated to Shiva, this temple serves as the birthplace of Khmer classical-style architecture. Vietnam Cambodia Trip
Reviewed On: Aug 23, 2019Michelle LowUnited States

We engaged Asia Tour Advisor to help us plan and organize a customized 2-week tour of Vietnam (with an add-on to Cambodia), and were thoroughly pleased with the entire experience. Our principal contact in planning the trip, Jenny Phuong was extremely professional throughout the planning process, which we did almost entirely via email (at my request).

Our goal was to see several different cities and regions of Vietnam and also to visit Siem Reap in Cambodia, and we worked with Phuong to develop an itinerary and tours that incorporated our suggestions as well as hers. She put together a package that included hotels in different price classes, I read reviews of them and did my own research using TripAdvisor and other guide books, and together we came up with a wonderful collection of properties that provided truly exceptional service.

Phuong also proposed various ATA excursions (sites to visit and things to do) at our different destinations including several street food tours. Phuong was always very responsive during the planning process, which went “back and forth” for a few weeks while we worked out all of the details and pricing of the final itinerary. Several times I asked her to make adjustments and re-calculate prices for us, and she replied to my messages within 24 hours (if not sooner) unless she had let me know she would be out of the office. In addition, when we had a couple of minor glitches with transfers in-country (that weren’t technically controlled by Asia Tour Advisor), I got in touch with her there and she responded almost immediately.

Asia Tour Advisor provided for all of our transfers and guides, and we were amazed by the level of professionalism of them all. Our tour included transfers for our international as well as four regional flights, and we were always greeted by a friendly guide and driver who were on time (well, generally early) and ready to get us to and from our hotels. In addition to several day-long sightseeing excursions, our tour included visits to places further afield where we spent a night or two and the guides (and drivers) accompanied us. The guides (all licensed professionals) were fluent in English, knowledgeable, polite, entertaining, and incredibly energetic.

In a few cases, Asia Tour Advisor engaged local guides as back-up, and those individuals were also excellent. Special “shout-outs” go to our principal guides William (Huang) in HCMC; “Jackie Chan” in Ben Tre; Tony in Hoi An; De in Hue; Ty in Siem Reap; and Dat in Hanoi, as well as to the drivers, who all provided us with a wonderful travel experience in Vietnam and Cambodia.

In sum, we absolutely loved our trip to Vietnam, and thought that Asia Tour Advisor did an excellent job of preparing and executing our itinerary at a very reasonable price. We would highly recommend them, and will also use them again if returning to Vietnam or traveling to other parts of Asia.
