Tranh Stream
Description:
Phu Quoc island has very little surface moisture, but there are several springs originating in the hills. The most accessible of these is Suoi Tranh waterfall, formed from small streams that originated from Ham Ninh mountains.
From the entrance of tourist area, follow the mossy rocks that lined the trail leading to Suoi Tranh waterfall. Both sides of the trail with tangled vines as increases mysterious to space, and the sound of murmuring streams like inviting you.
Suoi Tranh waterfall is a white-water creek tumbling across some attractive large granite boulders, with greenery all around and colorful wild orchids clinging to tree trunks, creating a poetic scenery between pristine nature. There are deep pools and it’s nice enough for a dip.
You can bring some foods, tarpaulin for a picnic on the banks of Suoi Tranh waterfall, then delight immersed in the cool water, relaxing with forest incense and hear the birds singing… Additionally, near Suoi Tranh waterfall also there are a few caves, such as the bat cave located on a mountain about 200m high and deep to 50m, with fancy stalactites, suitable for your short trip to explore.
The best months to visit Suoi Tranh waterfall are between May and September, by the end of the dry season there’s little more than a trickle.
To find Suoi Tranh, take the road heading east from Duong Dong for about 7kms toward Ham Ninh Village and look out for a large wood carved sign and concrete status in what could be mistaken for an unfinished inland resort. Travel inside to the small kiosk and walk from there. Admission to the stream is 1000d and motorbike is 1000d, however this is not always enforced or collected.
